Product detailed description

The grapes for this wine were grown in the Židlíky vineyard near Nechory. A gentle east-facing slope influences the ripening of the grapes, which takes slightly longer than in other sites. Thanks to this, the red wines from this vineyard have a very fruity and multi-layered aromatic profile. The combination of loess subsoil and heavier soils in the upper part of the site gives the wines richness and fullness.

Serving Recommendations

Serve at 15–16 °C in a large Bordeaux-style red wine glass (hand-blown Květná), which allows the full aromatic spectrum to develop. For an even better experience, we recommend decanting for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Food Pairing

This wine is ideal with red meats with richer and fattier sauces, lamb, game, and BBQ.

Cellaring

With proper storage, this wine is suitable for cellaring for 9–10 years.

Intense, deep garnet with bluish reflections.

Forest fruit with hints of blackcurrant, blackberry, and coffee beans.
Taste:
Very full and long, even opulent. Fruitiness of cherries and blackcurrant, complemented by undertones of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. A complex and highly structured wine with excellent potential for long bottle ageing.
Overall Impression: The wine is elegant, complex, and balanced with a pronounced structure.

Vinification and Ageing

Harvest:
Reduction of grapes combined with very low yield per vine (approx. 1–1.5 kg/vine) and precisely performed green work allowed the achievement of beautifully ripe grapes.
Fermentation:

Fermentation took place in open vats. Ageing took place in French oak barrique barrels for 18 months (80% new barrels, 20% second use barrels).
